How it works

Two pieces.
One mission.

The web app runs in your browser. The scanner helper runs on your computer. Together they give you a complete picture of your home network.

01

Download the scanner

A small Node.js helper that runs on your Mac or Windows PC. It does the actual network scanning — pinging devices, reading ARP tables, grabbing HTTP banners, probing UPnP.

02

Run it in Terminal

One command: node scanner.js. It starts a local server on port 55123 and waits for the web app to connect. Runs in the background while you use the app.

03

Open the web app

Visit aegisscan.org in Edge or Chrome. The app detects the scanner automatically and shows a green "connected" banner. Hit Scan and watch your network reveal itself.

04

Fix what matters

Every flagged device has a full fix walkthrough with checkable steps. Mark issues resolved as you fix them. Your security score updates in real time.

Get started

Download the scanner.

The web app works without the scanner using browser-based detection. For a full deep scan, you need the local helper.

One-click install for Windows

Download the installer, double-click it, and you're done. No Terminal. No Node.js. No command lines.

1 Download AegisScan-Setup.exe below
